Edmunds Elementary School Home Page

Greetings and welcome to our Stay Smart initiative

This initiative was initially developed to help stop summer learning loss which children experience, but there is every reason to use the site throughout the year.  If it's a rainy weekend and the kids are bored, hop on this site to see what fun activities they can do that use reading, writing or math. You might be surprised at how many engaging things there are to do and your child won't even realize that they're practicing their skills. They'll simply be using them to do the activity!

The key to all learning is to be encouraging to your children.  If mistakes are made, keep it light, laugh and help children to be comfortable with mistakes as part of the process of learning.  If you do that, they’ll keep trying!

Our goal for every child is that they spend 15 minutes a day reading – anything- and some equal time doing some kind of math and writing.  That will make an amazing difference in their skill development over time.

Have fun, and if you come across or create your own engaging game or activity that uses skills, let us know and we’ll add it to the list and our web site.

Best wishes for a wonderful summer!
